Meeting the Storm

I think, nobody wants to have a messy holiday. Including me.
But in fact, that's what I experienced.

Together with a super partner “Anastassia”. With a sudden storm coming, seems like we have no tomorrow.
The incident started when we were on Gili Labak Island, one of the beautiful island in Indonesia. This is not our first come to Madura, but we must admit: the charm is extraordinary. Well, my words might sound cliches. But you guys must try!

At that time the sky was really friendly. Bright and beautiful. After traveling about 2 hours with ship, we arrived at this place. Still lonely, as I recall there were no more than 3 stalls and 4 public bathrooms. Fyi: the bathroom had salty water! Haha.

It's small island, only takes about half an hour to walk around it. Typical young people: taking pictures, swimming, camping, and many other things that can be done. The water is fresh blue, whose color can vary depending on the depth and intensity of sunlight.

There is absolutely no sign of rain going down. The sky is still bright blue, and we’re still immersed in awe of the natural beauty that exists. I remembered very well, we are still engrossed with the camera and pose next to the words "Pulau Gili Labak".

After a few minutes, all the circumstances suddenly changed 360°. Head looked up, the sky was no longer bright. All flat in gray. The rain began to fall. We are still believe the case will be back as soon as possible. In the middle of the sea a ship swayed in the waves. We were still stunned, until finally the wind blows so fast the rain is getting heavy. It turned out to be a storm! We ran and ran to find anyone we knew. The wind grew louder and tore down some of the roofs of the cottage, blowing off the tents that had been installed by some visitors. I pray silently for salvation to the Authority, they too. I wonder what kind of prayer i had prayed,  then just a wish: could I go back home?

Either because of the power of our prayers all or nothing, the storm finally stopped. The sky was clear again and the ship at sea was calm again. That's maybe our first storm on a pretty little island. Being in that situation made me realize: we’re totally dependent on God. It is so easy for Him to flip the nature. Thankfully I can still back home safely, and remember how the incident is so embedded in memory.
